Our meditation practice therapy group is dedicated to supporting clients in developing their own meditation practices. We understand that each individual may come to meditation with different motivations, and we aim to create an inclusive space where everyone can explore their personal reasons for meditating.
The goal of this group is to support you in developing a personal meditation practice, therefore the weeks between our meetings are for you to continue the practice on your own.
Meditation has been shown to offer numerous benefits, including:
- Emotional Regulation and Balance: Cultivating mindfulness helps in managing emotions, reducing anxiety, and improving overall mood.
- Improved Neuroplasticity: Regular meditation practice encourages brain changes that enhance learning, memory, and emotional resilience.
- Enhanced Focus: Meditation trains the mind to concentrate, making it easier to stay present and attentive in daily activities.
Although we are not pathology centered, meditation can be beneficial for a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to:
- Anxiety Disorders
- Depression
- PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
- ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
- Chronic Pain Conditions
- Sleep Disorders
- Stress-Related Issues
- Substance Use Disorders
- Eating Disorders
- Mood Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
This group differs from commercial meditation groups for a number of reasons:
1. It is a trauma-informed, mental health focused group
2. There is space for unpacking and navigating your experience with meditation.
3. There is time reserved for integration of your experiences.
4. As a meditation-based process group, it is covered by insurance.
1. Brief Check-In (6:00 AM - 6:15 AM): We will start with a very brief check-in to allow participants to share their intentions for the session and how they are feeling.
2. Meditation Practice (6:15 AM - 6:45 AM): Guided meditation will begin promptly at 6:15 AM, focusing on somatic mindfulness, relaxation, and enhancing awareness and consciousness.
3. Integration (6:45 AM - 7:00 AM): Following the meditation, there will be a brief integration period where participants can reflect on their experience, share insights, or ask questions.
Whether you are new to meditation or looking to deepen your existing practice, our group offers a supportive environment to explore mindfulness and meditation. Together, we will cultivate emotional balance, improve focus, and enhance our overall well-being.
